Former Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne will present Bayou Bijou: Movies Made in Louisiana at the Old Governor’s Mansion on Thursday, October 15. The free program begins at 5:30 p.m. and explores fifty films connected to Louisiana.
Dardenne’s presentation traces productions from more than a century ago through films supported by the state’s modern tax-credit program. It also examines how Louisiana’s movie industry developed and changed across those eras.
The event is the third installment in Dardenne’s four-part series on Louisiana cultural and political history. A reception will follow the presentation. Admission and parking are free at the Old Governor’s Mansion, located at 502 North Boulevard in downtown Baton Rouge.
