BREADA Celebrates 30 Years in Baton Rouge with Eat Local Week, November 2–7

BREADA Baton Rouge

BREADA is celebrating 30 years of supporting local farmers, food producers and small businesses in Baton Rouge with a weeklong celebration of local food, shopping and community activities.

The nonprofit organization will host Eat Local Week from November 2–7, 2026, bringing together restaurants, farmers, makers and residents for a series of events centered around Main Street Market in downtown Baton Rouge.

For three decades, BREADA has helped connect the Baton Rouge community with Louisiana-grown produce and locally produced foods through initiatives such as the Red Stick Farmers Market and Main Street Market.

Local Restaurants Join the Celebration

Ten local restaurants and food businesses are participating in Eat Local Week, giving residents another reason to dine local:

  • Iverstine Butcher
  • Eliza Restaurant & Bar
  • The Cozy Griddle
  • Sapor Indian Fusion
  • Houmas House
  • Cocha
  • Hayride Scandal
  • River & Roots Market
  • Vivian’s Rotisserie & Grill
  • Danny’s Dive

As an added incentive, diners who visit three or more participating restaurants can collect punches on an Eat Local Week punch card and redeem it for a free tote bag at the BREADA tent at the Red Stick Farmers Market.

A Week of Local Food and Activities

The anniversary celebration will feature cooking demonstrations, chair yoga, local shopping, live music and opportunities to connect with the farmers and small businesses that make Baton Rouge’s local food community special.

The festivities will also include the Red Stick Farmers Market, one of BREADA’s signature programs.

Celebrating Three Decades of Supporting Local

Since its founding, BREADA has played an important role in promoting locally grown food and supporting Louisiana farmers, while helping build a stronger connection between local producers and consumers.

Eat Local Week offers residents an opportunity to celebrate that history while supporting the restaurants, growers and small businesses that continue to contribute to the Baton Rouge community.
