First Tuesday Brings Seven Community Service Projects to Baton Rouge on November 3

First Tuesday Baton Rouge

First Tuesday is bringing volunteers together for another day of community service on Tuesday, November 3, with seven projects scheduled across the Greater Baton Rouge area.

The organization connects volunteers with local nonprofits to help complete projects, improve facilities and support important community programs. November’s opportunities include food assistance, home repairs, landscaping, donation sorting and facility improvements.

Seven community service projects are scheduled for November 3:

  • Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank: Volunteers will help sort, inspect and repackage donated food, along with bulk food packaging to support local hunger relief efforts.
  • Revive225: Projects include home repairs to improve safety and accessibility for local families, along with warehouse maintenance and organization.
  • St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge: Volunteers will assist with sorting and organizing donated merchandise at thrift stores that help fund the organization’s community services.
  • Friends of Hilltop Arboretum: Volunteers will plant native shrubs along the Woodland Walk and west hedgerow, improving wildlife habitat and enhancing the grounds.
  • The Safety Place: Volunteers will help organize donated clothing and baby supplies, remove old tags and sort items for distribution.
  • O’Brien House: Projects include landscaping, pressure washing, minor repairs, cleaning and organizing donations throughout the campus.
  • Launch Therapy Center (Denham Springs): Volunteers will assist with pressure washing outdoor areas and repainting parking lines and steps to improve the facility’s exterior.

First Tuesday provides an opportunity for individuals, families, businesses and community groups to give back through hands-on service. The monthly initiative helps participating nonprofits accomplish projects while connecting volunteers with organizations making a difference throughout the region.

Volunteer opportunities and availability vary by project, and some may fill before the event.
