The Old State Capitol, in partnership with Louisiana Public Broadcasting and the Louisiana Chapter of America 250, presents a premiere screening of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, a new six-part PBS documentary from filmmakers Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. The screening takes place Sunday, November 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., one hour before the broadcast premiere. Complimentary food and drinks will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. The film explores how the thirteen British colonies rose in rebellion, won independence, and created a new form of government that influenced democratic movements around the world. Admission is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION airs on LPB at 7:00 p.m. beginning Sunday, November 16, and continues for six consecutive nights through Friday, November 21. The film is supported locally by the Louisiana Forestry Association.
