Make a morning of it in downtown Baton Rouge this Saturday. Shop the Red Stick Farmers Market at Fifth and Main streets from 8 a.m. to noon for locally grown produce, meats, seafood, breads, pies, honey, plants, and other goods from local producers. This Saturday also brings the monthly Arts Market, where local artists and makers showcase their work alongside the farmers market.
After browsing outdoors, step inside Main Street Market for lunch and more local shopping. Bring cash, or stop at the Market Information booth to use a credit, debit, or Louisiana Purchase card. Pets are not permitted at the farmers market.

The Arts Market, operated by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, is held on the first Saturday of each month.
